Burchell’s Zebra isn’t just a pretty face—it’s a striped powerhouse made for the wild. From its rounded ears to its bold rump stripes (yes, they go all the way under), this zebra is unmistakable, unstoppable, and undeniably stylish.

Slightly stockier than its mountain cousin, Burchell’s Zebra thrives in savannas, grasslands, and open woodlands. They’re grazers through and through, using sensitive upper lips to snip short grass like living lawnmowers.

Zebras move in small family units—usually one stallion, several mares, and their foals—often merging with others to form mega-herds. Non-breeding males form bachelor groups and challenge for mates when they’re feeling bold.

Social, vocal, and stubbornly loyal, zebras are constantly alert. They use loud barks, snorts, and facial expressions to communicate, and their stripes? They’re more than fashion. Camouflage, heat regulation, insect defense—you name it, stripes do it.

Burchell’s Zebras also share space with wildebeest, impala, and baboons, forming mixed herds for better predator detection. Safety in numbers—and stripes.
